The Clark County School District, Nevada's largest, is comprised of 300 schools. One of these schools is the James Cashman Middle School. Dedicated in July 1966, the school was named after the first hundred citizens of southern Nevada. Its student-teacher ratio is 25:1. It is the top public middle-school in the Las Vegas area. It is also recognized for its Magnet program. Listed above are some schools in the Clark County area that offer high-quality education for the entire family.


The Lied STEM Academy serves grades six through eight in Las Vegas. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 30:1, this school has the advantage of a diverse student body. The most recent state test results show that 61% of students scored at or above a proficient level in math and reading. Another high-performing middle school in the area is the Archie Clayton Pre-AP Academy in Reno. This charter school has 770 students. The student-teacher ratio is 22:1.





A charter school, Hyde Park Middle School, serves grades six through eight students in Henderson, Nevada. The student-to-teacher ratio is 23:1, with an average of 60:1. Its math and reading proficiency rates are at or above the state average. The student-teacher ratio is 18:1, and 53% of the students scored at or above a proficient level in math and reading. The student-teacher ratio is 30:1 at the Doral Academy Cactus.


A K-8 charter school in Las Vegas, Nevada, called the McCool science center, opened in October 2005. With 1,000 students, it boasts a student-teacher ratio of 25:1. The student-teacher ratio at this K-8 charter school is 24:1. The math and reading proficiency of its 760-students was 66%. It has a choir and robotics team. In addition, it has a project-based learning program that promotes creative problem-solving skills.



A PK-8 charter school in Las Vegas, the Mount Rose K-8 School of Languages, has a student-teacher ratio of 20:1. The Mount Rose elementary school has four hundred and sixty-five students. The Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Tamarus has a low student-teacher ratio of 19:1. The Goodsprings Schoolhouse was opened in 1913 and currently has six enrolled students. It shares its Principal with Indian Springs Elementary School and Sandy Valley Elementary Schools.


There are many elementary schools in Las Vegas. Theron L Swainston Middle School, for example, is one of them. It has a student-teacher ratio of 19:1. The Goodsprings Schoolhouse, on the other hand, has a student-teacher ratio of eighteen. Its students are 87% proficient in math and 80% in reading. Aside from these two schools, there are more than a thousand elementary and middle school in Las Vegas.
